Zoo Stuffed Animals and the Oldest Zoo in the World

Zoo stuffed animals are made up of a menagerie of different plush toys. They can include lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, and zebras, to name just a few of the more popular choices. Using zoo stuffed animals to start a collection of soft toys is a wonderful way to amass all sorts of your favorite wild animals.
Tiergarten Schönbrunn or the Vienna Zoo, is the oldest zoo in the world. It was founded in 1752 and is located on the grounds of the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria. The zoo is steeped in history dating back to Empress Maria Theresia and her husband Franz Stephan Von Lothringren.
In 1745, when Franz Stephan (Franz I) was chosen as the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire of German Nations, he commissioned architect Nicholas der Ville-Issey to design a menagerie at the Habsburg-Lothringren summer home which was located in the park of Schönbrunn.
The design was made up of 12 enclosures that also had the same size animal houses. In addition, an administrative/technical building was also created which opened into the garden area. Eventually, the entire complex came to be known at the “loggia circle.” There was also a pond and two farmyards that had additional buildings. The entire area was separated by a wall from the rest of the Castle gardens and neighboring properties.
After a year of construction, in 1752, animals were finally brought to the zoo and put on ‘display’ for the public. In 1828, the first giraffe arrived at Schönbrunn, presented to the zoo as a gift from the Viceroy of Egypt. Its arrival was so popular, the zoo recorded a record number of visits and it went on to influence not only fashion, but also the handicrafts industry and social life in Vienna. The giraffe motif was also used on clothing, gloves and other objects which were of use daily. A hairstyle was even created as well as a perfume called “à la Giraffe.” Up until World War I, Viennese bakeries also created and sold a giraffe cake and a type of pastry called “Giraffeln.” Author and Viennese theater director, Adolf Bäuerle also wrote a play called “Die Giraffe in Wien oder alles à la Giraffe” and two musical pieces.
The giraffe house, which is still standing today, along with two bear cages and a monkey house (both of which no longer exist), were influenced by the architectural heritage of the Biedermeier period (a style developed in Germany in the 19th century) in Schönbrunn, at the time.
Zoo stuffed animals consider themselves quite fortunate that they are not confined to cages and enclosures in a zoo. While it’s true they may have to sit on a shelf for a while until they are chosen to move to their own ‘home,’ zoo stuffed animals enjoy freedoms the real animals in living in zoos can only ever dream about.

If you’re a teddy bear connoisseur, then you know the following: teddy bears were first named after U.S. president Theodore Roosevelt in 1902. Teddy bears were first displayed in an American shop window in 1902. In 1903, in Germany, a seamstress named Margaret Steiff added plush bears to the Steiff catalog and sold 3000 of them to U.S. customers. In 1955, plush bears were used by surgeons in the operating room to assist in putting children to sleep prior to surgery. Teddy bears heal the hearts and minds of children and adults alike when they’re down or feeling ill. Christopher Robin received a bear for his first birthday – the bear we now know as Winnie the Pooh. Plush bears come in all sizes – small, medium, and large.
You don’t have to be up on all there is to know about teddy bears to appreciate them. Like with all stuffed animals, it’s more important to gauge how you feel when you hold one. Given their popularity, it doesn’t seem to matter what size a plush bear is in order for you to fall instantly in love with them. But, if you’re looking for the ultimate snuggle, large teddy bears should be your first choice. Even the most famous stuffed bear in the world, Winnie the Pooh, comes in a large size.
With large bears, there is just that much more to cuddle and cozy up to. Whether you choose a huge plush bear to display in a collection or to simply sit on your bed, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to resist the urge to hug them.
What is it that makes plush bears so special? Is it their size, their color? Their smile, their roly-poly belly? Or, is it the magic power they seem to wield whenever we look at them? Whatever it is, large teddy bears are simply irresistible!
If you happen to own a dog, you may be surprised to learn that your canine companion can be just as enamored with large bears as you or a child. Dogs will typically carry them around just like a child will and will lie on them like a pillow. In the same way large plush bears can be comforting to us, they are a comfort to dogs as well.
There is a certain heart-warming charm about large bears. Their irresistibly soft fur and sweet faces are enough to make even the toughest critic melt. The next time you feel like you don’t have a friend in the world, give a large plush bear a big bear-hug and watch all your troubles amazingly disappear.

Everyone loves to get teddy bears for newborns when they are born. Teddy bears are designed for newborns safety, which makes them one of the safest toys to get them. No one wants to get the wrong thing for a precious baby and you can’t go wrong with something you can cuddle. But teddy bears don’t just come as a stuffed animal anymore, now they are musical device
The most popular teddy bear to get a newborn is the soft plush teddy bears. These bears have no hard objects on them, so no worrying about choking hazards. They are soft enough that if your baby actually gets a hold of it and smacks himself in the face it isn’t going to hurt.
Teddy bear security blankets have only recently started appearing in baby cribs. These are tiny square blankets that have a teddy bear in the center of them. Newborns can now hold these tiny teddy bears in their hands as they suck on the ends of the silk ends. Each blanket is made of the softest fleece material and the teddy bears are soft with no hard parts.
Teddy bears that are made with a small rattle inside so every time you shake it or baby gets a hold of it, it makes noise. Musical teddy bears will play soft melodies for your baby to drift off to sleep. However, if you still can’t get him to sleep you may want to try the Heartbeat Teddy bears. The Husky Plush Toy and Lessons from Sled Dogs

The husky plush toy is one of those soft dog toys which cater to those interested in getting breed specific with their stuffed animals. Some husky plush are so well made in fact, they look just like the real thing.
When (and if) we think of racing dogs, we think of the sled dogs that are the ultimate in canine athletics. In the world’s longest sled race – the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race – held every March, the very best ultra-endurance dogs compete in a grueling 1,100 mile trek that takes them from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. No one has ever been entirely sure how these animals were able to withstand temperatures that drop as low as -40 Fahrenheit, 60 mile per hour winds, and heavy blizzards, but one Dr. Michael Davis has been focusing on ‘the how’ for more than ten years.
What Dr. Davis found was the most amazing in these sled dogs, was their “their ability to rapidly adapt to sustained strenuous exercise in 24-48 hours.” It’s a fact that the metabolic changes of a conditioned dog are much the same as those of an athlete on the first day they compete in human endurance tests and/or races; their muscle energy reserves deplete, stress hormones increase, and cellular injury takes place (in their proteins and DNA, for example). Over a period of several, back to back days in which a human exercises at the same level of intensity, all the changes that went on in their body become reversed. Four days after sled dogs started ongoing strenuous exercise, however, their metabolic profile went right back to the way it started before they began racing. When a human athlete gets tired, they will stay tired until they have fully recovered, which can sometimes take an entire day.
Dr. Davis also found that the aerobic capacity in a trained sled dog as compared to that in an untrained one, was twice as high when measuring the ratio of volume of oxygen to body weight. In addition, when sled dogs were in racing mode, they were able to burn up to 12,000 kilo calories on a daily basis. In other words, a sled dog weighing in at 55 pounds could conceivably consume 24 McDonald’s Big Macs so as to fuel themselves for running; a running dog consumes a high fat diet which in turn is converted to energy in their liver and when they first begin exercising it acts as fuel. If a human being were able to absorb and process all the fat found in a McDonald’s burger, they would need to eat 72 Bic Macs to fuel the power to run over a day’s time.
Ultimately, Dr. Davis says sled dogs “are one-of-a-kind athletes. What we learn from them will undoubtedly tell us a lot about human performance as well.”
The husky plush toy won’t ever have a need to run unless of course it’s in some imaginary race dreamed up by its owner. While both the husky breed and the husky plush animal would undoubtedly love to be able to eat dozens of Big Macs, they will both have to settle for something less – for the real thing, a diet of dog food chosen by their owner, and, for the plush toy, some type of imaginary food if they’re lucky.

Christmas Stocking Sock Monkeys

All you will need is… A pair of socks in any size, needle and thread, toy stuffing, 2 buttons for eyes and a sewing machine is an advantage but not essential
Take the first sock, turn it inside out and lay it out flat heel up.
Mark out the centre of the sock up to 4 cm below the heel line. With a dewing machine, if you have one, stitch 1 cm away from the centre line and sew down towards the ribbed part of the sock. Sew down to the bottom edge, turn away from the centre line and sew across the ribbed section to form a foot. Stitch the other side of the centre line to match.
Now cut up the centre line to divide the legs.
Turn the sock the right way out through the hole at the monkey’s crotch. Lightly stuff the monkey’s body and legs and sew up the hole in the crotch with invisible stitches.
Lay the second sock out flat in a side profile position and cut out relevant parts as indicated in the diagram.
Tail
Fold in half and stitch up the long side, tapering the ribbed edge to a point. Turn, stuff, turn the ends in and attach to the monkey’s bottom.
Mouth
Turn in edges and pin the oval shaped mouth to the main monkey just below the toe. Stitch invisibly in place leaving a small opening. Lightly stuff and close opening. Embroider on a mouth.
Arms
Fold in half and sew up the long edge and across the ribbed edge. Turn, stuff, turn the edges in and stitch in place on the monkey’s body.
Ears
Put two ear parts together with right sides facing. Sew around curved part of the ear and turn right sides out. Tuck the bottom edge up inside the ear and fold the ear in half. Tack half way along the bottom edge to form a fold in the ear and stitch in place at the side of the monkey’s head.
Eyes
Stitch buttons on the front of the monkey’s head above the mouth.
Pull the hat on to the monkey’s head

Easter is a big holiday, but few know all about its origin. We know that the Easter bunny comes on Easter and delivers eggs, but where did such a tradition come from? The following article will answer those questions and satisfy our personal curiosity, and give you the knowledge to answer children’s many questions on the holiday. Here is some general information on Easter itself, the Easter Bunny, and the tradition of Easter eggs.
Easter
Easter, while gaining popularity as a secular holiday with the Easter Bunny and Easter eggs, is primarily an important Christian holiday. Easter is connected to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which happened over a three day period according to Christian faith. The day Jesus was crucified is called Good Friday, and Easter Sunday itself takes place on the day he came back to life.
Unlike the other big Christian holiday Christmas, Easter does not have a fixed date. Instead, according to Wikipedia, it falls on or after the winter equinox, March 21. From there it is calculated following the cycle of the moon. Because of this volitality, sometimes different types of Christians celebrate Easter on difference days, depending on if they are Orthodox, Catholic, or something else.
The Easter Bunny
The legend of the Easter Bunny says a rabbit brings gifts to children the night before Easter Sunday. Specifically he brings colorful eggs and candy. As for where this idea originated, that is unknown. One theory, according to Wikipedia, is that the bunny originated with a spring children’s game in the 1700’s where a being named the Oschter Haws would leave colorful eggs for good children in a nest they had built out of garments. Supposedly, over the years this idea has evolved into the more famous egg hunt.
You may have noticed that Easter decorations overwhelmingly involve the bunny rabbit, with stuffed bunnies, bunny figurines, and tons of other bunny-related items. As for why a rabbit was chosen to represent Easter, this is because few animals symbolize the season of spring better. The bunny is known for its extraordinary fertility, and spring is a time of new life, as everything begins to bloom again. This is why the Easter Bunny seems so appropriate for this spring holiday.
The Easter Eggs
Fertility really is one of the main themes of spring, which is why eggs are also an icon of the Easter holiday. The new life theme is so important that people didn’t stop with just eggs, many decorations also include little chicks and plush ducks too.
Though fertility seems to be something of a pagan idea, the egg tradition also has its roots in Christianity. The blood of Jesus was said to have spread over some eggs that were placed at the bottom of the cross he was on, where it painted the eggs red. So that’s where the idea of painting the eggs came from. In fact, further in to the tradition, once the eggs have been painted red, Christians were supposed to tap them and say an Easter incantation praising Jesus’ resurrection.
Obviously, the color choices for the eggs have evolved from the original red to multi-colored, and often pastel, but you can see where the tradition originally came from. In fact, the egg tapping itself has transformed into a different game where you tap until you find the hardest egg. In this game, the egg that survives the most taps without breaking wins.
So there you have it! The holiday of Easter has a long and interesting tradition that has evolved greatly overtime. Now that you are armed with the knowledge, you’ll be able to answer any questions those curious children you know may have. hello, today i want to talk to you about one of the best ways to get anime news or even anime updates (like about your favorite animes out there)and some things like that.To me the number one thing I mean the number one thing is to go to some good anime forums let me explain a little ok,its like this when you sign up for some anime forums you get to:
1.voice your opinion or opinions for that fact.
2.get the latest news about all different types of anime
3. Debate about all the hot topics and much more (trust me)
now here comes the big question “what type of forums should i sign up for?”well you can sign up for anyone you want it really doesn`t matter.they could be big, small, popular – unpopular, its totally up to you (trust me i mean it its your choice).BUT, I would recommand a great forum to at least check out here it is this forum http://animelovers411.forumotions.com/forum.htm At this moment it is on the the little side but, its a wonderful place if you ask me. Here are some good reasons why a small forum (I think is better then a big forum):
1.When you post it will not be buryed after a couple of minutes(if you know what i mean)
2.its also way easyer to make friends on it (if you like that you dont have to)
3.On top of that it is easyer to be come a mod and things
TIP:
when going on anime forums make the best signatures every to symbolize your self people like to see that
So, anyway I hope now you see that is isn`t the worse to sign up with small forums.Also on top of all that evently it will become a bigger forum because every post you post on the topics and forum it will help grow that forum. If I was you I would go with the smaller forums because to me it feel like the community is closer together and that the people on it (the anime forum) really listen to you.I dont know f it is just me but thats what I think.So, thats it I think 100 % that the best way of getting Anime and manga news and updates and stuff is going thourgh anime and manga forums(I think smaller is better)
